Salon.com takes a look at why Synergage.Com failed and what they probably could have done to survive. They suggest that they fell into the trap of believing that "If you build it, they will come and spend money", which, unlike in movies, doesn't happen in the Real World. Another explanation is that the company employed a bunch of teenagers who learned everything they knew about business from running a lemonade stand when they were younger. I realized as I read this that I never once bought anything from Synergage.Com. Oh well.

IBM has done it again. According to this Ziff-Davis AnchorDesk article, they've patented new technology that will allow them to produce a 612 gigabyte hard drive the size of a penny. Production isn't expected to begin until 2006, which means you'll need to find some other way to store your porn library for now.
